Petrel replacement battery cap kit is offered in either a radial or crushed version. This kit will improve the electrical contact in the Petrel battery system. The gold plating on spring and washer are resistant to oxidation and corrosion.
The supplied electrical contact grease works by keeping oxygen and other contaminants (ex. seawater) away from the electrical contacts, helping to further prevent any problems. The use of electrical grease is highly recommended, even with gold parts.
